Trump says US to impose tariffs on BRICS, copper imports

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington will soon impose tariffs on BRICS countries and intends to introduce high tariffs on copper imports.

 

During a US government meeting, Trump told reporters that the US will impose a 10% tariff on BRICS countries soon, as well as a 50% tariff on copper imports.

 

He added that pharmaceutical companies will be granted a grace period before facing sector-specific tariffs.

 

Trump also noted that a letter may be sent to the European Union within two days regarding the upcoming tariff measures.
