Saudi Arabia will introduce artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum across all stages of general education starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, the National Center for Curriculum Development (NCCD) said.

The initiative is being launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), state news agency SPA reported.

The new curriculum will feature age-appropriate AI learning units delivered through interactive and practical methods. It will include mechanisms to ensure continuity of knowledge across different educational levels and the gradual development of skills. Learning outcomes will be integrated into the Kingdom’s comprehensive student performance evaluation system.

The move supports the Human Capabilities Development Program, a pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, and aims to foster a values-based, inclusive education system that enhances Saudi Arabia’s global competitiveness and leadership in AI.

The curriculum is designed to equip students with essential digital-era skills, encouraging innovation from early education through to higher education, vocational training, and lifelong learning.
