Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. said the General Authority for Foreign Trade has accepted and launched an anti-dumping investigation following a complaint filed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Saudi Arabian Ductile Iron Pipes Ltd. (SADIP), in coordination with another local producer.
The complaint targets imports from India of hollow pipes and tubes made of cast iron, known as ductile iron pipes, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.

The complaint, Amiantit explained, was filed to protect the domestic industry manufacturing ductile iron pipes with diameters ranging from 100 mm to 1,000 mm, covering specifications from 9K and Class C to 40C.
The move follows a sharp drop in prices of Indian imports, which the company said eroded its market share and production capacity, hurt business growth, and reduced its sales in the local market.
While the financial impact is still unclear, Amiantit said the imposition of anti-dumping duties is expected to boost sales in the ductile iron pipe segment.
It added that the measure would strengthen its market share among contractors and government entities seeking to increase local content, with a positive impact on overall performance.
Amiantit highlighted its commitment to actively follow up and participate in all phases of the investigation, in coordination with the relevant authorities, with the aim of expediting the application of provisional anti-dumping duties.
The investigation seeks to alleviate harm to local ductile iron pipe manufacturers and could lead to final duties on imports from India.
The company said it filed the complaint with the support of legal representative Abdullah Al-Dosari.
It added that there are no material legal, regulatory, or operational risks from the complaint, and that it would disclose any significant developments as they arise.
