Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef began an official visit to the United States today, Aug. 25.
The visit aims to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, develop strategic partnerships in the industrial and mining sectors, and explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the mining sector and priority industries, including manufacturing, automotive, aviation, medical devices, and food.
More than 1,300 US companies currently operate in the Kingdom, 200 of which have established their regional headquarters in Riyadh, which reflects the growing investor confidence in the Saudi industrial system.
The ministry stated that Saudi Arabia's total non-oil exports to the US amounted to SAR 20.4 billion in 2024, while total non-oil imports amounted to SAR 49.3 billion.
It also indicated that the top exporting sectors were plastic products, aluminum and its products, and others. Meanwhile, the top importing goods were boilers, machinery, equipment, and mechanical tools, vehicles other than locomotives and railways, and others, as shown in the following table:
