Saudi Arabia's private investment fund assets rose by 4% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 574 billion in Q2 2025, the Capital Market Authority (CMA) said in a recent report.
According to the market regulator, an investment fund consists of a set of securities selected based on specific standards and criteria that align with the fund’s investment objectives.
The earnings of investment funds are typically generated from capital gains—profits earned from an increase or change in the value of invested securities—along with any dividends, if applicable.
A private fund is defined as an investment fund established in Saudi Arabia, with its units offered to investors in the Kingdom in accordance with the Investment Funds Regulations.
Real estate funds accounted for the largest share of private investment fund assets, comprising 49% of the total, or SAR 284.41 billion, followed by equity funds at 35.4% (SAR 203.4 billion).

The number of private investment funds reached 1,407 in Q2 2025, compared to 1,318 by the end of Q1 2025.
The number of subscribers to private investment funds recorded approximately 154,100 in Q2 2025, up from 168,100 in Q1 2025.
