Farabi Petrochemicals says new facility adds 120,000 metric tons per year of LAB capacity
Farabi Petrochemicals Co. inaugurated on Sept. 22 its fourth integrated linear alkyl benzene (LAB) plant in Yanbu Industrial City, with total investments of SAR 3.6 billion ($950 million).
The new facility represents a significant addition to its production capacity, boosting annual output by 120,000 metric tons of LAB, the company said in a statement.
The complex leverages its proximity to Aramco’s refineries in Yanbu, ensuring world-class integration across the supply chain, high operational efficiency, and compliance with the highest sustainability standards.
The company also signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Unilever to expand their long-standing global supply partnership.
It highlighted that LAB is a key ingredient in the production of household and industrial cleaning products, with Unilever being the largest global buyer of the material.
