US crude oil inventories decreased in the week ended Oct. 24, signaling increased US fuel consumption.
Commercial crude inventories fell by 6.9 million barrels, missing expectations for a decline by 900,000 barrels, according to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, gasoline inventories shed 5.9 barrels, with distillate stocks—including diesel and heating oil—decreasing by 3.4 million barrels.
