Riyadh city
Hotel room occupancy in Saudi Arabia neared 53.2% in Q2 2025, down 2.2% from Q2 2024, data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
Meanwhile, occupancy in serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities also fell to 50.2% during the same period, according to GASTAT’s Tourism Establishments Statistics bulletin.

Room occupancy rates in Madinah hotels were the highest in Q2, reaching 66.8%, followed by Riyadh at 52.1% and Makkah at 50.8%.
Riyadh led serviced apartments with an occupancy rate of 57.7%, followed by Najran at 55.5%.

The average daily rate (ADR) for a hotel room in Saudi Arabia reached about SAR 643 during Q2 2025, a 4% decrease compared to Q2 2024.
However, the ADR for a room in serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities amounted to approximately SAR 201 during the same quarter, up 1% year-on-year (YoY).

The number of workers in Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector grew by 4% YoY in Q2 2025, reaching around 997,400.
Of the total, 247,600 were Saudi nationals, representing 25%, while 749,800 were non-Saudis, accounting for the remaining 75%.
