LG to provide HVAC and AI smart-home solutions for UAE’s smart-city projects
LG Electronics signed, on Nov. 19, a strategic partnership with the Expo City Dubai Authority (ECDA) for smart-city projects in the UAE.
LG will provide heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) solutions, in addition to AI-powered smart home systems, to support the smart city’s infrastructure in line with the UAE government’s objectives, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported.
According to data compiled by Argaam, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved in October 2024 the new master plan for Expo City Dubai, which hosted Expo 2020 and COP28, to become a smart and sustainable city spanning 3.5 square kilometers, and designed to accommodate more than 76,000 residents.
The plan includes five integrated districts for residential living, business, innovation, education, and entertainment, with a smart transportation network and green spaces. It leverages its strategic location near Al Maktoum International Airport, Jebel Ali Port, and the Dubai Exhibition Centre. The city aims to enhance sustainability, innovation, community engagement, and economic growth in line with the UAE’s future vision.
