Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority (SERA) launched today, Nov. 27, its new consumer protection framework, in an event attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.

According to a statement published on the authority’s X account, SERA Governor Abdullah Al Bishi said the framework, developed in cooperation with leading global companies, marks a transition to a new phase in regulating the electricity sector.

It aims to enhance consumer experience by making electrical service more reliable and sustainable.

He added that the authority’s 2025 strategy outlines a more efficient and proactive future vision, with a mission centered on regulating electricity activities fairly and protecting consumers proactively.

The governor also noted that the authority has chosen a proactive approach to handling incidents, understanding consumer experience, analyzing indicators, and taking action before consumers are affected.
