Saudia, flynas and flyadeal said they are reviewing updates issued by Airbus regarding the A320 fleet, and assessing any potential impact on their flight schedules.

Flynas said it had received a directive from Airbus concerning A320 aircraft, and will accordingly carry out software and technical recalibration on part of its fleet. The process will result in longer turnaround times between a limited number of flights and some delays to the operating schedule.

The airlines noted in separate statements that if the updates require any adjustments, they will contact customers whose flights may be affected.

In a follow-up statement, flyadeal said it has successfully completed the required Airbus updates and expects its operating schedule to return to normal by midnight on Nov. 29.

According to Reuters, technical and software recalibration refers to making precise adjustments to the computer systems and software that control certain aircraft components to ensure proper and safe performance.

The announcements come after Airbus said it had ordered immediate repairs for 6,000 of its widely used A320 aircraft, as part of a broad recall.
