Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh Al-Jasser said direct contribution of transport and storage businesses to the Kingdom’s GDP stands at 6.2%
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Saleh Al-Jasser, stated that local and global private-sector companies invested over SAR 280 billion in the transport and logistics industry.
In his speech at the Supply Chains and Logistics Services Conference 2025, the minister said the direct contribution of transport and storage businesses to the Kingdom’s GDP stands at 6.2%, while the air cargo growth rate increased by 34% year-on-year (YoY) to 1.2 million tons.
He noted that job creation in transport and storage businesses rose by 28% as of mid-2025 compared to mid-2024, adding 144,000 jobs, bringing total employment in the sector to 651,000.
The future of the transport and logistics sector in Saudi Arabia has become a reality on the ground, as reflected in national and international indicators, Al-Jasser said.
