US natural gas inventories fell during the week ending Jan. 2, according to data released today, Jan. 8, by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The data showed a decline of 119 billion cubic feet (bcf), in line with Wall Street Journal analysts’ estimates.
US gas inventories are 3.6% lower than the same period last year, but 1% above the five-year average of 3.225 trillion cubic feet.
