The signing of the agreement
The Qassim Municipality signed today a contract for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Qassim Dry Port, under the patronage of Qassim Governor Prince Faisal bin Mishaal, and in the presence of the President of the General Transport Authority Rumaih Al-Rumaih, the Assistant Minister of Investment Abdullah Al-Dubaikhi, and a number of regional officials.
The move comes as a step that strengthens the transport and logistics system and supports comprehensive development pathways in the province.
During the ceremony, Qassim Governor reviewed the dry port project, its components, and details. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the wise leadership for the strong support the region receives for both the public and private sectors, and congratulated the signing of the dry port implementation contract in Qassim, which reflects the region’s true logistical position.
The Governor also emphasized that the dry port represents a strategic step to bolster the transport and logistics sector in the region and achieve sustainable development in line with Vision 2030, expressing his hope that attention to the project will continue until its infrastructure is fully completed.
Spanning an area exceeding one million square meters, the project will be built with an operating contract term of up to 50 years. It is considered one of the projects supporting commercial and investment activities, and it will help ease pressure on seaports through the integrated logistics services it will provide, relying on advanced infrastructure.
The port’s location is distinguished by its proximity to several vital facilities, most notably Qassim Railway Station, located about 7 kilometers away, and Prince Naif International Airport, approximately 44 kilometers away. It is also directly connected to the highway network, including the Riyadh–Qassim–Madinah Road and the Qassim–Hail Road, enhancing its role as a logistics hub serving the region and several neighboring areas of the Kingdom.
