Economy and Planning Minister Faisal Alibrahim emphasizes the importance of monitoring long-term risks and opportunities alongside short-term actions
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim said adopting a long-term vision is essential, alongside the determination to achieve it despite challenges.
It is essential to monitor long-term risks and opportunities and maintain a focus on short-term priorities, he said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.
Alibrahim said some matters require speed and discipline, while adaptability is equally important, noting that under Vision 2030, the Kingdom, as a unified government team, has developed the ability to know when to move at full speed and when to make precise adjustments.
He added that planning for specific outcomes is a continuous process, stressing that when indicators signal the need to change course, teams must be able to adapt.
The minister underscored the importance of a long-term perspective, boldness, flexible thinking, and the acceptance that any transformation inevitably involves transitional risks.
Alibrahim concluded that the most important factors are clarity of purpose and understanding of the intended outcomes, alongside continuous engagement and transparent communication to drive progress.
