Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, said the speed of technology adoption is a key factor in the industrial and mining sectors.
Speaking on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2026, Alkhorayef stressed the importance of creating a regulatory environment that supports and sustains momentum for innovation, training, and skills development.
He noted that Saudi Arabia is working through a collective effort, as the private sector cannot operate on its own. It requires connectivity with remote areas, training and skills development, and investment in appropriate technologies to ensure sustainability and standardization.
The minister said youth represent one of the most important resources, and the ability to convert their capabilities into added value is a key objective in the Kingdom.
He added that significant progress has been made in recent years, with young people becoming increasingly interested in technology jobs, which helps transform mining and manufacturing into more attractive sectors through technology adoption.
