The Ministry of Education revoked the licenses of 74 private schools across several cities in Saudi Arabia after detecting violations, including the absence of a valid operating license and a lack of safety approvals, such as a Civil Defence certificate.
These are basic requirements to ensure student safety and the quality of the educational process, the ministry said in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The decision was made following a series of regulatory measures and gradual warnings, the failure of the relevant schools to respond to correction requirements, and the heightened risk posed by continued violations.
The ministry said it arranged for students transferred from affected schools to be directly enrolled in public schools, or to be transferred to schools chosen by parents, ensuring that students can continue their education without interruption in an appropriate learning environment close to their places of residence.
