The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) launched five new maritime shipping services aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s port connectivity with global markets. The move came in partnership with leading international shipping lines including MSC, CMA CGM, Maersk, and Hapag-Lloyd, with a total capacity exceeding 63,000 TEUs.

In a post on X, Mawani stated that the added value of these services includes expanding the global shipping network, increasing shipping options and route diversity, enhancing connectivity with regional and international markets, and supporting smoother cargo flows.

The authority had earlier announced the addition of the new AE19 service, operated by Maersk, to Jeddah Islamic Port. The service enhances connectivity with key ports in Asia, Africa, and Europe, with a capacity of up to 17,000 TEUs. This step supports operational efficiency, boosts the port’s competitiveness, enables national exports, and strengthens the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics hub in line with Vision 2030 objectives.

Mawani also announced the addition of the JADE service, operated by MSC, to Jeddah Islamic Port, with a capacity exceeding 24,000 TEUs. The service enhances connectivity with eight ports across Asia, Europe, and Africa, supports global trade flows, and strengthens integration with land transport to GCC countries, reinforcing the Kingdom’s role as a global logistics hub.

Additionally, Mawani launched the Knowledge and Service Hub, providing 24/7 support and information through multiple channels.

The authority also introduced the GULF SHUTTLE service, operated by MSC, to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, with a capacity of up to 3,000 TEUs, linking the port with Sharjah, Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Umm Qasr (Iraq).

Furthermore, Mawani announced the addition of the REDEX service, operated by CMA CGM, to Jeddah Islamic Port, aimed at strengthening maritime connectivity with global ports.
