US crude oil inventories increased in the week ended March 27, above forecasts of a 814,000-barrel rise, according to a report released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma hub also climbed by around 520,000 barrels, while refinery runs fell by 219,000 barrels per day.

This may indicate a continued weak demand for the US crude during the week, which led to increased inventories.
