Damac Properties will collaborate with Meraas Holding to build a new mixed-scheme project called Aykon City at the Dubai Canal, the company said in a statement Sunday.

The developer announced the purchase of 4 million square feet of land along Sheikh Zayed Road for AED 1.26 billion last week to be used for the project, which will have six towers.

The mixed-use development will include luxury residences, hotel rooms and office space, with an expected sales value of AED 7.4 billion. The tallest tower will be 80 storeys high.

Construction will begin this summer and is scheduled to be complete in 2021.
