Saudi Aramco, along with India-based IT major Wipro and Princess Nourah University (PNU) on Monday inaugurated Saudi Arabia's first all-women business and technology park, which is expected to create nearly 21,000 jobs over the next 10 years.
The initiative is a joint venture of PNU and Wipro Arabia, with Saudi Aramco as the strategic advisor and anchor of this project, Wipro said in a statement.
The business park, to be located in the PNU premises in Riyadh, aims to provide knowledge-based employment for women in Saudi Arabia, the statement said.
The project will seek to provide engineering drafting services, business process services and become an IT hub in the region for industry sectors including oil & gas, manufacturing, government, healthcare, telecom and construction.
Saudi Arabia is looking to increase women’s participation in the workforce to 30 percent from the current 13 percent.
