Saudi Arabia’s Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has completed a regional interconnection project with Iraq using high-speed fiber optic cables, it said in a statement.
The implementation of the project included the provision of fiber optic cables stretching over a distance of more than 80 kilometers from the Saudi city of Arar in the north, to the Iraqi border.
The network comes as an extension to Mobily's other projects interconnecting Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Jordan, in addition to three international marine cables connecting Jeddah and Khobar, the statement said.
