Dubai-listed DXB Entertainments opened up its Dubai Parks and Resorts on Monday, with the official launch of Legoland theme park and Riverland, a dining and retail destination.

The AED 10.5 billion ($2.85 billion) project, Dubai Parks and Resorts is expected to be fully open by the end of this year with the launch of Motiongate theme park on December 16.

Bollywood Parks, Legoland Water Park, and the Lapita Hotel will open to the public on November 15, DXB said in a statement to Dubai Financial Market.

“As the largest entertainment destination in the region, Dubai Parks and Resorts will support the UAE’s tourism vision and grow the family leisure industry in the region,” chief executive Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi said in the statement.

Nuaimi earlier told Argaam that the launch was staggered in order to “make sure we take the time to get everything just right and launch a destination the UAE and our shareholders can be truly proud of.”

Dubai Parks and Resorts also has plans to launch Six Flags Dubai, which is slated to open in 2019.

DXB Entertainments’ stock rose 0.6 percent to AED 1.59 in early trade on Monday.
