Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power has signed two financial agreements for a 60.3 mega-watt peak (MWp) photovoltaic solar plant in Jordan, the company announced on Tuesday.
The financing comprises a loan of $27 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and another of the same amount from the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO).
The ACWA Power Mafraq plant will be located in the Mafraq Development Area, 50 kilometers north-east of Amman, and is part of a 150MWac solar complex.
The project will be part of the assets of ACWA Power RenewCo, a new company launched earlier this month to group ACWA Power’s existing renewable energy portfolio.
