Egypt’s ministry of tourism will grant residents of Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) visas on arrival at Egyptian airports effective May 4, Sky News Arabia reported citing Yehia Rashid, Egypt’s minister of tourism.
GCC residents must have a valid residency visa of at least six months to be eligible, he added.
The move comes as part of Egypt’s efforts to boost tourism, which has been severely set back in the past few years because of terrorist attacks inside the country and regional political unrest.
