Saudization of mall jobs in Jeddah reaches 40%

Saudization rate at Jeddah malls and shopping centers has reached 40 percent, Al-Watan daily reported on Tuesday, citing Mohammed Alawi, chairman of the committee for commercial centers at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Saudi nationals will have more jobs in the near future and will hold various positions at Jeddah's malls and commercial centers, backed by favorable market conditions, Alawi added.

Last April, the ministry of labor and social development issued a decision on nationalizing jobs in all malls across the Kingdom, Argaam earlier reported.

The move came as part of the Kingdom’s various initiatives to create jobs for citizens and lower the unemployment rate.
