Before minority interest, the TASI-listed broadcasting group generated net profits of SAR 263.5 million in the three-month period, up from SAR 121.3 million in Q1 2024.

The annual profit surge was fueled by the group’s SAR 808 million topline increase in the first quarter. This was due to growth in advertising and digital revenues during the month of Ramadan, along with better broadcast and technical services revenues.

Gross profit also increased by SAR 190 million year-on-year (YoY) in Q1 2025 on the back of higher revenues during Ramadan.

On a sequential basis, MBC Group’s three-month net earnings jumped by 29.6% from SAR 178.8 million in Q4 2024, thanks to a rise of SAR 804 million in the first-quarter revenues. Gross profit also grew by SAR 224 million quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) on Ramadan seasonality.

The Q4 2024 results included one-off gains of SAR 170 million from the sale of an associate stake.

Total shareholders’ equity, after minority interest, rose to SAR 4.40 billion as of March 31, 2025, from SAR 3.88 billion a year earlier.
