The swing to profit in 2025 was primarily driven by a sharp increase in net financing and investment commission income, which rose 144% to SAR 762.8 million. This was supported by the recognition of SAR 117.8 million in income from the recently-introduced Shariah-compliant financing and a 329% surge in other service revenues to SAR 198.3 million that year, driven by higher client transaction fees.
Provisions declined to SAR 153.5 million in 2025 from SAR 159.3 million a year earlier.
As a result, the company reported an operating income margin of 16.4%, versus an operating loss margin of 18.3% in 2024. This was despite incurring higher general and marketing expenses due to increased software infrastructure spending for product development. Other income also increased in 2025.
On the downside, financing and investment commission expenses rose to SAR 585 million from SAR 395.5 million, reflecting a 51% increase in funding costs. Income tax expense also climbed to SAR 45.6 million, compared with SAR 3.4 million in the same period last year.
In Q4 2025, Tamara’s earnings surged 197% to SAR 101 million, from SAR 34.05 million in the fourth quarter of 2025.
On a sequential basis, net earnings skyrocketed by 260% from SAR 28.08 million in Q3 2025.
