The bank cited higher income from net special commissions, fees and commissions, dividends, trading and FX, along with net gains on FVSI financial instruments. Earnings were further buoyed by a reduction in impairment charges on other real estate owned, other general and administrative expenses and premises-related expenses.
Meanwhile, this profit growth was partially offset by the increase in the costs related to salaries and employee-related expenses, net allowance charges for ECL and other provisions and depreciation and amortization. Additionally, there was a reduction in net gains/(losses) on non-trading instruments and net other operating income.
