BCI profit rises to SAR 10.9M in 9M 2025, SAR 9.8M in Q3

Basic Chemical Industries Co. (BCI) reported a net profit after minority interest of SAR 10.9 million in the first nine months of 2025, compared to SAR 4.7 million a year ago.

Net profit before minority interest fell to SAR 27.9 million in the first nine months of 2025, compared to SAR 30.1 million in the same period of 2024.

 

Profit growth was mainly driven by a decline in general and administrative expenses by SAR 4.7 million, financing costs (SAR 3 million), as well as Zakat and tax expenses (SAR 2.9 million).

 

The company also reported an overall decline in sales compared to the previous year. However, higher sales of basic chemicals were offset by decreases across other product categories, including industrial chemicals, contract manufacturing, water treatment materials, polymers, and adhesives.

 

Distribution and selling expenses also rose slightly.

 

The Q3 2025 net profit rose 328.9% to SAR 9.8 million, compared to SAR 2.28 million net profit in the third quarter last year. This was mainly due to a fall in general and administrative expenses by SAR 5.4 million, financing costs ( SAR 1.1 million), and Zakat and tax expenses (SAR 2.1 million).

On a sequential basis, net earnings jumped 171.6% from SAR 3.61million in Q2 2025.

 

Total shareholders’ equity (after minority interest) declined to SAR 584.37 million by Sept. 30, 2025, from SAR 597.05 million a year earlier.
