Al Akaria closes at 20-month low

Shares of Saudi Real Estate Co. (Al Akaria) fell by 5% today, Sept. 21, to close at SAR 15.17, reaching their lowest level since December 2023.

 

The stock hit an intraday low of SAR 15.10. Its losses year-to-date reached nearly 40%.

 

Earlier this month, the Tadawul-listed company disclosed that 487,840 square meters (sqm), or 4.65%, of its Riyadh land bank are subject to the Idle Land Tax. Al Akaria’s total land portfolio in Riyadh spans 10.48 million sqm.

 

Of the land subject to the levies, 141,560 sqm are classified under Tier 1, the highest-priority category with a 10% fee, comprising several projects under development, while 346,280 sqm fall under Tier 4, the lowest-priority category with a 2.5% fee.
