Maaden climbs to all-time high

Shares of Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) hit their highest price since listing during the session today, Jan. 13, at SAR 70.

The stock rose 2%, with around 1.5 million shares exchanged so far.

 

The company announced on Jan. 12 the addition of 7.8 million ounces of resources across four main sites, including operating mines and early-stage discoveries.

Maaden was formed by Royal Decree in 1997 as a state-owned company to facilitate the development of Saudi Arabia's mineral resources. In 2008, the company listed 50 percent of its shares on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul). The company conducts its business through three divisions: Phosphates, Aluminum and Precious Metals, and Base Metals.
