HRSD ministry issues 1.5 mln freelance business licenses, 60,00 benefited from remote jobs

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) issued 1.5 million freelance business licenses, Al-Ekhbariya reported, citing Mohammed Al-Jasser, Assistant Minister of HRSD.

During Innovation & Future of Government Work Conference, Al-Jasser noted that nearly 60,000 benefited from remote jobs.

This was reflected in the public sector, as a new remote work regulation was issued in the sector, the deputy minister stated, expecting that the number of remote employees in the public sector to reach 20% of total employees, which will be reflected on the work method, environment and productivity measurement.

According to data available on Argaam, the Freelance Work Program is an initiative from the ministry aimed at organizing and motivating freelance work in the Kingdom to contribute to job opportunities for Saudi males and females.
