Yasref shuts gasoline-making unit; sells naphtha: report

16/08/2018 Argaam

Saudi Arabia's Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining (Yasref) has recently shut a gasoline-making unit, prompting it to sell naphtha, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing multiple traders.

The gasoline-making unit, which has a capacity of 84,000 barrels per day, was shut a "few days" ago, the report said, adding, it was unclear if the unit had “resumed normal operations.”

The company generally does not sell heavy full-range naphtha, as it uses it as a feedstock for the reformer.

Yasref is 62.5 percent owned by Saudi Aramco, while China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) holds the rest.
