Etihad Atheeb announces June 30 deadline to fulfill CITC requirements

Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Co. (GO) said that the letter issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) regarding the cancellation of the license to use the 3.5GHz spectrum band frequency if the company fails to fulfill its obligations, was received on May 26.

 

The deadline for the company to fulfil its obligations expires on June 30, 2022, the teleco added in a bourse statement.

 

The company was granted multiple licenses from CITC, and the license for the frequency spectrum on the 3500MHz band was obtained to meet the requirements of one of the future projects, where the company continues to implement its strategic transformation plan, the statement added.

 

The financial impact cannot be determined at present.

 

On May 30, Etihad Atheeb announced that the license to use the 3.5GHz spectrum band frequency will be canceled if the company fails to fulfill its obligations, according to data compiled by Argaam.
