Ministry of Energy seeks public input on draft petroleum and petrochemical law

The Ministry of Energy started on Sept. 25 inviting public comments on the draft petroleum and petrochemical law through Istitlaa platform. Comments will be received until Oct. 24.

 

The draft aims to regulate petroleum and petrochemical operations, to ensure public interest, protect the rights and interests of consumers and licensees, as well as control and supervision of petroleum and petrochemical operations. It also seeks to enhance the benefits from petroleum, petrochemical and raw materials.

 

The draft stimulates investment and develops the private sector contribution. It also aims to ensure the supply and reliability of petroleum and petrochemical materials, enhance energy use efficiency and circular carbon economy.
