The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) imposed a SAR 1 million fine on a food plant in the Eastern Province and stopped its production line, for violating the food law and its executive regulation by tampering with the expiration dates of about 17,572 kilograms of poultry.
The authority seized and confiscated the entire quantity of violating products before they reached the local market, SPA reported.
This came thanks to the monitoring and investigation operations that the authority’s inspectors continuously conduct in the facilities under its supervision, it added.
