US President Donald Trump
US President Donald Trump confirmed no further extensions to the upcoming Aug. 1 deadline to impose reciprocal tariffs on imports from trade partners who failed to break deadlock on new trade terms with the US.
The Aug. 1 deadline “stands strong, and will not be extended. A big day for America,” Trump wrote in a post on his platform Truth Social.
The statement came as the US has secured trade agreements with several countries, including the UK, Japan, and the European Union. Negotiations with other trade partners are still ongoing.
