HRSD introduces 49,500 jobs for Saudis in private sector YTD

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) announced creating and documenting approximately 49,510 new jobs for Saudis in the private sector year-to-date (YTD).

In an official statement, the ministry said it has intensified its inspection efforts in the private sector across the Kingdom, carrying out over 912,000 field visits as of Aug. 16.

Job Saudization was highly prioritized, aligning with the ministry’s strategies to develop the labor market. The ministry also allocated a significant portion of inspection rounds to monitoring establishments’ compliance with Saudization regulations and programs.

During the period, inspection teams conducted more than 586,100 field visits specifically focused on Saudization to ensure the implementation of related decisions across establishments. These inspections uncovered around 15,900 violations related solely to noncompliance with Saudization regulations and the employment of non-Saudi workers in jobs restricted to Saudis. This helped protect job opportunities for citizens, the ministry explained.

In January, Ahmed Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, said in press remarks that the private sector workforce stood at 12 million, and the number of Saudis employed in the private sector increased over the past four years from 1.7 million to 2.4 million by the end of 2024, adding 700,000 new jobs for citizens, Argaam data showed.

The unemployment rate among Saudis dropped to a historic low of 6.3% in Q1 2025, compared to 7% as of Q4 2024.
