The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) invited the public to submit feedback on the National Frequency Spectrum Plan, which outlines the allocation of radio spectrum to radio services in Saudi Arabia, along with the principles and standards on which the commission based the allocation.
In a statement, CST said the proposed updates to the plan included several key aspects. These covered amendments to the document’s provisions and objectives, the allocation of radio services across frequency bands, the structure of the national frequency allocation table, and the mechanism for access to frequency bands in line with national needs and growing demand for spectrum access.
The updates also included revisions to national allocations to align with approved international agreements in accordance with the International Telecommunication Union Radio Regulations.
It added that the plan included the mechanism for access to frequency bands and clarified the relevant regulatory provisions and related international requirements.
The commission noted that the request for feedback aimed to ensure optimal use of the frequency spectrum, meet the needs of various national sectors, support rising demand for spectrum, keep pace with developments in wireless technologies, and align with relevant international updates, most notably the outcomes of the 2023 World Radiocommunication Conference.
It sought to enable modern and emerging wireless technologies and stimulate investment and innovation across sectors by providing an attractive regulatory environment.
The commission urged all relevant entities and interested parties inside and outside the Kingdom to submit their feedback on the document and share related details and analytical and comparative studies, noting that submissions would be accepted until Jan. 25, 2026.
