Ahmad AlRajhi, The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development
The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, approved the regulations governing work in high-risk occupations.
The regulations, published in the Official Gazette, aim to provide a framework for classifying and licensing high-risk occupations.
This includes classifying and licensing occupations based on the type and severity of risks, as well as the potential impacts associated with each occupation, as well as ensuring the ability of workers/employees to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
The regulations also include defining pre-employment and periodic medical examinations and tests for individuals engaged in high-risk occupations.
The regulations apply to all employees and workers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, whether working full-time or part-time, on a permanent or contractual basis, whether Saudi or non-Saudi.
