The White House said US President Donald Trump will make a decision on his nominee for the chair of the Federal Reserve within the next two weeks.

 

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Thursday that the president is close to finalizing his choice for the key post, noting that there are several candidates whom Trump favors for the leadership role.

 

The announcement comes as financial and economic circles closely watch the selection of the next head of the US central bank, amid strong interest in how the incoming leadership’s policy direction will align with the current administration’s economic agenda.
