Saudi Arabia’s minister of health, Muhammad Ali Al-Hayazie, signed a contract with an international consulting house to design and map out development plans for the Riyadh-based King Saud Medical City (KSMC).

“The ministry is keen to expedite the completion of future projects in light of the best international standards,” said Mamdouh Aldrees, co-chief executive for engineering affairs at KSMC.

Development programs will start within a year. Handover would be by the end of 2018, Al-Riyadh newspaper quoted Aldrees as saying.

KSMC development plans include establishing the 480-bed third medical tower, a 200-clinic dental tower, 300 outpatient clinics, an accommodation for nurses, and a multi-story parking garage that holds 2,500 cars.
