ADNOC Distribution, a unit of the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC), will start regulating the sale of LPG cylinders in Abu Dhabi through Rahal e-Gas cards from October 1, the company said in a statement.
The new price of unsubsidized LPG cylinders in the emirate have been set at AED 40 for the 25 lbs capacity cylinder (50 kg) and AED 80 for each 50 lbs (23 kg) capacity cylinder during October.
Revised monthly prices will be announced on the 10th of every month based on global fuel prices.
According to the new monthly quotas set by ADNOC Distribution, Emirati families are permitted to purchase AED 150 worth of unsubsidized cylinders. Single UAE nationals have been allocated a monthly quota of AED 70, while resident expat families and single expat residents are permitted to purchase LPG cylinders at a price of AED 70 and AED 40, respectively.
The company will continue issuing e-Gas cards to customers at an additional fee of AED 50 that will be deducted from the first time application charge of AED 200. The remaining balance on the card can then be used for the purchase of LPG cylinders.
