TASI falls more than 800 pts to close at 11,077
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 6.8%, or 895 points, lower at 11,077 points today, April 6, reaching its lowest close since November 2023.
Total turnover reached almost SAR 8.4 billion.
The index’s loss is the largest in points terms since 2008 and the steepest in percentage terms since March 2020.
The market's decline coincides with the drop in oil prices and global stock exchanges over the weekend following China’s retaliatory tariffs on the US.
Market Index
Most stocks declined, led by Saudi Aramco, Al Rajhi Bank and Saudi National Bank falling between 5% and 7%.
Many stocks recorded their biggest declines, including BSF, ADES, Chemanol, solutions, Al Akaria, Saudi Chemical, Cenomi Retail, MBC Group, Maharah, Arab Sea and Saudi Steel Pipe.
ACWA Power, Riyad Bank, Maaden, Alinma Bank, SAB, Mobily and Sulaiman Al-Habib fell by 5% to 9%.
