TASI posts biggest one-day gain since 2020 on easing of foreign ownership cap

Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 5.1%, or 550 points, to close at 11,426 points on Sept. 24, marking its highest level since May 2025. 
 
Total turnover reached nearly SAR 14.5 billion.
 
The rally marked TASI’s biggest percentage gain since March 2020, when it surged 7.1%, and its steepest points increase since 2014, when it rose about 682 points.
 
Bloomberg reported, on Sept. 23, that the Capital Market Authority was considering allowing foreign investors to own majority stakes in listed companies.
 
With today’s rise, TASI extended its winning streak to six sessions, adding nearly 1,000 points, or almost 10%.

 

Market Index

Most of the traded stocks rose, led by Al Rajhi Bank, Saudi National Bank, Alinma Bank, Dar Al Arkan, Bank Albilad, Tadawul Group, SIIG, Sipchem, Makkah Construction, Derayah, and Mobily, all jumping nearly 10%.
 
BSF, Bank AlJazira, Riyad Bank, Bahri, and Elm rose by between 6% and 9%.
 
Saudi Aramco gained less than 1% to close at SAR 25.06, with approximately 26 million shares traded.
