Established in 1976 as a closed joint-stock company with an initial capital of SAR 5 billion, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) commenced its industrial operations through its subsidiaries in 1983. Subsequently, in 1984, it was transitioned to a public joint-stock company. By 2005, SABIC achieved significant growth, solidifying its position as the eleventh largest company globally.
