SABIC was set up in September 1977 as a Saudi joint stock company in Riyadh, The company is the largest basic petrochemicals producer in the Middle East, and one of the largest fertilizers and chemicals producers and exporters worldwide. SABIC also spearheads steel producers in the GCC region.
The group is a diversified manufacturer of chemicals and intermediates; industrial polymers; fertilizers and metals fields in more than 40 countries.
The group produces ethylene, propylene, butadiene, methanol, benzene, caustic soda, glycol, industrial gases, PVC & polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, thermoplastic resins, urea fertilizers, and long & flat hot and cold rolled steel products. Chemicals represent over 60% of SABIC’s total production.
