Saleh Al-Turki, Mayor of Jeddah

Saleh Al-Turki, Mayor of Jeddah, urged citizens not to buy land without a deed, as that there will be no sympathy with any new informal settlements.

Speaking at the “In the Picture” program, Al-Turki said utilities will not reach houses that do not have deeds, adding that regulations prevent electricity from reaching such houses, and even if it does, it will be removed.

Dealing with any informal settlements will not be the same as before, as he urged citizens not to buy houses through a document, as such documents are not accepted.

There will be no claims through “Ehkaam” platform even if the house is built, the Mayor said, stressing that it will be demolished.

Al-Turki called on citizens to buy land with a regular deed, build in an approved scheme and obtain a building permit.
