Najran Cement Co. plans to export cement to Yemen because of proximity and the country’s growth potential, CEO Badr Al-Johar told CNBC-Arabiya Television.
The cement maker has already submitted a request to the ministry of commerce and investment to get an export license, he added.
The company’s clinker stockpiles have reached 2.2 million tons, which will allow it to export as well as meet local needs, he said, while stressing that there are no plans for expansion before 2020.
Al-Johar also commented on the newly established SAR 500,000 mining company, adding that mining and exploration is a long-term process.
